These goddess earrings are made with Petoskey stone, a fossilized coral found on the shores of Michigan. Petoskey stone is the official Michigan state stone. The original coral lived in shallow waters and has been replaced with Calcite. They are fragments of a coral reef that was originally deposited during the Devonian period, about 350 million years ago.
